Welcome!
Clare Hale offers private tuition on Flute from beginner to Grade 8 level and Music Theory up to Grade 8. She enters her candidates where appropriate, for Trinity College London examinations. Lessons are conducted face to face, or via Skype or Zoom, in a friendly and patient manner. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace, the emphasis being on fun as well as hard work. Clare lives in Radwinter, has an enhanced DBS check and up to date ‘e safety’ and child protection training. She is a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and holds ISM Registered Private Teacher status.
Clare is a fully qualified and dedicated teacher, with over 40 years’ experience. She taught for Hertfordshire Music Service for all that time, as well as periods for the Inner London Education Authority, Essex Music Service and the London Borough of Waltham Forest.
Over the years Clare has entered over 500 of her own students for music exams, from Initial Grade to Diploma level, and she accompanies her students on the piano up to Grade 6. Some of her students have stayed with her from being beginners to Grade 8 and some have gone on to become members of the music profession themselves.
As well as individual pupils Clare is experienced in whole class instrumental teaching, coaching youth orchestra sectionals and has run and conducted several wind bands and flute choirs in local schools and music centres, often arranging music herself for the groups. Composer Geoff Walker wrote his piece Distant Stars for her and her Bishop’s Stortford Music Centre Flute Choir.
A video is available of the concert, advertised on the left, which raised nearly £650 for Alzheimer's, Multiple Sclerosis and Ukraine. Please send me a contact message to request a link to the video.
